Inspection checklist
What to check before you buy
- Check the FAME II purchase date and odometer — most 2024 launch-batch CRETA Electrics were purchased under FAME II and may still be within the 3-year / 60,000 km resale restriction.
- Verify the Hyundai battery warranty: 8 years or 1,60,000 km. For a 2024 model, most of this should be remaining — confirm the warranty is still active and transferable to a new owner.
- Charge to 100% and check the displayed range. The Long Range 51.4 kWh variant should show approximately 440–480 km under normal India conditions. Significantly lower readings warrant further investigation.
- Run a DC fast-charge session at a CCS2 charger — the CRETA Electric supports up to 100 kW DC. Confirm the charge rate holds through the session without dropping sharply.
- Test the BlueLink connected car app — Hyundai's app shows charge history, location, and diagnostics. Ask the seller to provide a walkthrough of the recent data.
- Check that all three charging modes work: CCS2 DC fast charging, Type 2 AC charging, and the portable AC cable.
- Inspect the CCS2 port for any pin damage, corrosion, or moisture ingress.
- Confirm the software is up to date — Hyundai issues over-the-air updates for CRETA Electric and an out-of-date software state on a 2024 car may indicate the car has been outside the service network.
